On Monday, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee told the media that her government would appeal the Calcutta High Court’s order to fire 36,000 government and government-aided primary teachers.
He told fired teachers and their families not to be sad. He claimed government support. He further claimed that state government employees’ push for DA parity with central government employees has cost teachers their jobs.
He told reporters, “We are getting appeals from the families of these 36,000 who have lost their jobs. Feeling awful. We chose the division bench.”
The Calcutta High Court cancelled 36,000 elementary teacher appointments in government and aided schools on Friday due to improper recruitment. Do not despair; our administration is with you, Mamta Banerjee remarked on Monday. We will defend ourselves legally.
The Calcutta High Court authorised the West Bengal Board of Primary Education to appeal the ruling cancelling 36,000 primary teacher appointments.
